This year 2015, SBI has changed its format to conduct exam for admission into SBI PO and no one is sure why this change happened; Why SBI changed its exam Format for SBI Bank PO. Some are guessing that due to more number of candidates; SBI decided to give chance for main exam only to genuine candidates. Now, SBI has decided to done its recruitment through 3 phase test. Anyway, leave this topic. This is none of our business; lets concentrate on the topic; Structure of SBI PO Exam.
Preliminarily Exam ( Phase 1 )
First of all, there would be a preliminary exam of 100 marks. Through this exam, SBI will pass Approx. number of students equal to twenty times of Vacancies. For example; see….As SBI mentioned there would be 812 vacancies for General Category for SBI PO post; SO total number of students which would be declared clear through first phase exam are 16,240.
Section Wise detail of Phase 1 preliminary exam:
- English Language- 30 questions of 30 marks
- Quantitative Aptitude-35 questions of 35 marks
- Reasoning ability- 35 questions of 35 marks
Total time to cover all these questions would be only one hour i.e; 60 minutes. It means you have less than one minute for each question. As we can see SBI strategy for Phase 1 exam is same as like SSC except syllabus. Best thing about Phase 1 exam is that there are no marks for General awareness. It means, Candidates whose I.Q level is good and not good in General awareness part would finally enter into phase 2 exam. Bad news for those candidates who just score from the Mugging part which is General Awareness.
One more thing to worry about the Individual cut off. SBI has decided that only candidates who would secure cutoff in each section of phase 1 would be declared for phase 2 exams. It means; you have to strong your all three sections to get taste for phase 2 exam.
There is no idea after how many days SBI will conduct its phase 2 exams after Phase 1 exam. Just Keep your preparation Strong; you would be PO in SBI Bank soon. For all updates, connect with us on Facebook and Through e-mail Subscription Service.

Best thing about Descriptive paper is that you can score high and overall your performance if your English Grammar and Sentence formation is good.
SBI had also cleared that First priority would be given to phase 2 objective exam. If you scored individual cut off in each section of exam, your deceptive test would be evaluated otherwise not.
Section wise details for the Phase 2 exam:

Final Selection for the SBI PO
Performance in phase 1 (Preliminary exam) is only to qualify for the Phase 2 exam. Phase 1 marks would not be counted for the Merit List. As already cleared, Phase 2 is of 250 marks. During merit list preparation, Performance in phase 2 exam would be evaluated on the 0-75 marks scale and 50 marks of Phase 3 would be converted into 25 marks. So, overall performance would be counted on the scale of 100 marks and your performance of 0-100 scale would decide your admission in SBI Bank as Probationary Officer.
