But, No one was in my known who could guide me how to become Inspector all I have was Passion to become.  I started surfing on Internet and finally cleared SSC CPO Examination and got placed as Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police. Somehow, I feel that I should share my journey all guys so that No one has to work so hard to become Police Inspector as I had to. Today, I will share all important things related to SSC CPO Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam. You will come to know all about the Examination, Paper Structure, Syllabus, Suggested Books, Study Plans, Age-Limit, Total attempts allowed, salary etc.

About SSC-Sub Inspector CPO Examination

When I was just a beginner and come to know about SSC-CPO examination, my first question was what do you mean by C.P.O( CPO Full form); I surf online and come to know that CPO Stands for Central Police Organization. This is the examination through which Govt. Of India recruits inspector at Central Level.

SSC recruits inspector through CPO exam for different Govt. Organizations like Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police, Boarder Security Forces (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force ( CISF), Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBPF), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF.

Salary Detail for the Sub-Inspector Recruited through SSC-CPO Examination

If anyone having true passion to serve India, Salary doesn’t matter. Somehow, it matters for future, parents etc. Govt. of India is providing very good package to all guys who would recruit through SSC Sub Inspector-CPO recruitment Exam.

All the posts is divided into 3 different type of Grade Packages;

  • Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police:

You would be appointed on Post which carries Pay scale of Rs. 9300-34800 in Pay Band 2 with Grade pay of Rs. 4200 and classified as Group ‘C’ by Delhi Police.

This is normal salary for this pay Band Group. In case, you are allowed for the travelling allowance(TA); TA would be added in the Exact Pay and all-over salary would be affected. 10 % of PF would be also deducted as per Govt. Rules.

  • Sub-Inspector in CAPF ( Central Armed Police Force):

This post also carries same pay scale but classified as Group B Non-Gazetted and Non-Ministerial.

  • Assistant Sub-Inspector in CISF:

You would be appointed as Assistant Sub-Inspector so pay scale is little bit low. This post carried Pay scale of Rs. 5200-20200 in Pay Band -2 and Grade Pay Rs. 2800 and this post classified as Group ‘C’. If we calculate approx salary from above Formula, It is Rs. 19920.

We counted Salary on the basis of HRA @ 30 %. It varies from 10 to 20 % with variation of Non-Metro or metro cities. In case of Travelling Allowances (TA), Count as per given data. 

Qualifications for SSC-Sub Inspectors CPO Recruitment Examination

This is also a major point to consider if you are going to appear for this exam.

Bachelor’s degree is enough to apply for the exam. In case, you are applying for the Delhi Police, Valid Driving License is required before appearing for Physical and Endurance Test.

If you really want to get selected through CPO Exam, You have to well understand about the exam structure; how many exams you have to give for appointment and what would be the exam structure considering different portions.

You have to clear three different Portions; 2 Offline exams and one Physical Test

Exam 1 ( Paper 1)

Reasoning 50 marks 50 questions
General Knowledge 50 marks 50 questions
Quantitative Aptitude 50 marks 50 questions
English Comprehension 50 marks 50 questions

 

Study Plan for Preparing Paper 1 of SSC CPO Sub-Inspector Recruitment Exam

a) Reasoning 

b) English 

c) General Awareness

Exam 2 (Paper 2)

PET ( Physical Endurance Test)

Exam 3 ( Paper 3)

English Comprehension 200 marks 200 questions

 

If you Score above Cut-off marks in Tier 1 Examination, You would be called for Physical test. After complete Physical test and found to be Medically Fit, You would be called for Paper 3 which is totally English questions based.
