Security Features of Indian Currency  Note to avoid Duplicacy

We all are victim of the Duplicate note amount Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 etc. ; sometimes we get it through stranger or sometime through our closed ones even sometime thorough ATM Machine. Govt. is trying their maximum effort to close all the machines who are engaged in manufacturing of Duplicate notes. Somehow, we get Duplicate notes and are the victim. Here, we are presenting you security features as per told by the RBI so that we can avoid as much as possible. This article is specially for the Govt. Job aspirants because Govt. also asks for these security features in competitive Govt. Job or Banking exams to check awareness of Aspirant.

Security Features of Indian Currency Note to avoid Duplicacy

Security Features of Indian Currency Note:

  • Watermark: There is portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on the Note. If you take a look of watermark against light, it will show the amount of Note. For E.g; If it is Rs. 500 note, you will see electrolyte mark showing 500 numerical.
  • Security Thread: Every note contain a security thread which is 2 mm thick and having inscriptions Bharat (In Hindi) as well as RBI. If you viewed it on different angles, Shift in color will take place; from Green to Blue.
  • Latent Image: There is a vertical band on the right hand side of Note; near about Mahatma Gandhi Photo. If you view it against light, you can see the amount of Note numerically printed.
  • Intaglio Printing: On the backside of Mahatma Gandhi Portrait, there is RBI seal to promise such amount and amount printed in raised prints.

Why we can’t produce multiple copies through Colored Photocopy Machine:

Due to Omron Anti-copying feature, we are unable to produce multiple copies. Omron Anti-Copying feature is available on front as well as back side of Note. If we try through Colored Photocopy, Output will be in different shade not exactly.

Legal Provisions to avoid Duplicate Note:

Printing as well as circulation of Forged/Duplicate notes counted in the category of offences. You would be arrested under 489 A to 489 E section of Indian penal Code. Punishment would be in terms of fine or Imprisonment  or Both.
