There should be little bit stress because it motivates us for exam and upcoming problems but high stress leads to affect our mind performance as well as body. Whenever any Exam or interview is nearby, we start getting worried about that and ultimately our mind gets out of control and Stress gets increased. Most common reason behind all this stress is our worrying nature. As we start getting worried about our nearby exam or interview, Many questions starts getting arise in our mind like what would happen in exam, How I would solve mathematics question in given time, Do I really know enough or what type of questions Interviewer would ask. As these questions increases stress which leads to our irritating behavior, short-tempered mood etc. All above symptoms are suffered by the most of the mediocre level Students or Govt. Job aspirants which should be completely avoided for a better tomorrow or for our best performance in the upcoming exams.
Managing stress is really difficult but not impossible. All we have to do just following below plan to manage examination stress or we can say to reduce stress. We are not saying that everyone suffer from examination stress; It varies from student to student. For some category of students, it leads to the large extent while for some category of students, it effects normally. Why we are giving importance on managing examination stress because it adversely affects Students performance in exam and can lead to failure. So, here we are sharing tips to reduce Examination stress so that you not only perform well in exams but also improve your mind performance in daily Life.
Tips to Manage Examination Stress
- Follow a study Plan:
Don’t decide everything on the spot. Just Before going to bed, prepare for the tomorrow; Plan about subjects to revise. Make a timetable and give time to each topic individually. Break down whole syllabus or topics into small parts. Decide time for individual topics according to your performance. It could be possible that some topics need only 5 minutes to revise while a different topic need 50 minutes to revise. So, it is all up to you. Decide as per your capability. Study plan would help you to remain in control of yourself. Try to do mapping also. Mapping means chapter 1 needs 20 minutes, chapter two needs 14 minutes etc. It would help you in long-term and you’ll also not get bored.
- Do one topic at single time:
As already told above, follow a study plan and give time to individual topics. You already heard about one famous quote that you can do anything but you can’t do everything. These quote also applicable in Exams also. If you try to learn 2-3 topics at single time, you would be puzzled and result in wasting of time. In short, we want to say that avoid multiple subjects at the same time.
- Revise regularly:
As syllabus is too vast; we divide time for different chapters according to their difficulty level. Leave some time to revise previous learned things also. It would help you to avoid last-minute cramming. It would also boost your confidence and reduce unwanted tension during exam time because you know you already prepared well and revised regularly
- Stop cramming:
Sometimes, any chapter or formula takes more time and we start cramming instead of understanding it theoretically. Give time to yourself and try to understand that topic deeply. If you avoid cramming, you could also avoid nervousness and short-tempered mood in last-minute preparation. If you found any topic more complicated, give yourself break and try with fresh mind.
- Try to understand topic:
As we already stated stop cramming, it means you have to understand that topic thoroughly. Learn about each possible outcome and question every possible problem so that you no longer feel like that you are cramming.
- Remove distractions:
Do not use cell phones during Study time. If possible, keep phone switch off. It would not help you in concentrating on topic but also save your data plan.lol. If you want to do web surfing for study, keep your phones on silent and use when it required. Avoid social websites Facebook, Twitter etc. These social sites shift your focus from what you are studying. If you can’t stop yourself from entertainment, assign time for that thing also in Time table and Do as you promised with yourself.
- Don’t copy what other do:
Every one procedure is different to revise questions or solve problems. Don’t think about others how they are solving or what time they are taking, just improve you.
- Try alternate revision methods:
By alternate revision methods, we mean to say try some funny or colorful method for learning like Write with colorful pens, do mind mapping, use colorful note-book. These methods would make revision fun for you and you would be motivated to study high.
- Prepare yourself:
Prepare yourself for the exam. Ask yourself for what topics you want more time, from where you would get study material, how you would prepare notes; what format is best for individual topic or how many marks are allocated for different-different topics. If you don’t know; ask your tutors, friends or follow marking scheme of exam on official website. It would help you in preparing study plan as well as maintaining your time. Don’t try to be perfect in every topic; just understand thoroughly & your skills will be automatically getting improve.
