XAT is a competitive Exam which decides aspirant’s admission into various Prestigious Management institutions. There are two exams which are conducted all over India to decide admission into MBA Institutes.

XAT is one of the second toughest exams after CAT.

Finally, Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) exam successfully conducted on 3 Jan 2016. This year, there was little bit increase in total aspirants appearing for the exam because of increase in demand of MBAians due to growth of startup culture in India. This exam was conducted all over India in 47 Cities as well as 2 International Cities.

XAT 2016 was conducted by Xavier Labour  Relations Institute (XLRI) Jamshedpur Centre.

XAT-2016 Exam Review

If we talk about the XAT 2016 exam, Structure of question Sections was like below;

Part-1 (78 questions with 170 Minutes time)

  • 3 Sections of Verbal ability having 26 questions in each part
  • 23 questions from decision making
  • 29 questions from Quant

Paper-2 (Total time 35 Minutes)

  • 25 questions of GK and Essay Writing

If we compare difficulty level of exam as compared to previous year, Verbal Ability section was little bit hard while other sections were easier than the previous year paper.

We all know about the curiosity of Exam givers and Future aspirants for Analysis of XAT-2016 Exam. Exam givers want to know what could be expected cut off for XAT 2016 exam so that they can planning their future while XAT 2017 Aspirants want to know How this exam was different from last year XAT exam so that they can plan their strategy for the upcoming XAT or CAT exam.

About XAT-2016 Pattern as well as Level of exam

After announcement by the XAT regarding change in Exam pattern; everyone was expecting that paper would be less difficult as compared to last year exams. But, XAT gave surprise to everyone. It was same as level of CAT 2015 and Verbal Ability was little bit harder.

After collecting feedback of Students, we come to know that many of the Candidates failed to attend required number of questions and they found paper difficult.

One more Surprise was given by the XAT in 2016 exam that if you are unable to attend required no. of questions, they can impose penalty of .05 marks for each question which is not attempted.

Expected Cut-off for General Category Candidates in XAT 2016 exam could be 30-34 marks.

This Cut off is decided after collecting number of students feedback and last year exam date.

Expected Sectional and overall Cut off for XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)-2016 Exam

30-34 marks could be the cut-off for XAT 2016 exam but it doesn’t mean that every student who scores more than Cut-off marks called for the Interview. It is totally decided upon the XAT Institutes and no. of seats. We know last year Cut-off was little bit low( 28 marks). But due to increase of 30 minutes to appear in exam, we are expecting 2 to 4 marks more in expected Cut-off.

As we all know How XAT Calculate percentile, it is calculated as below;

65% weight age to final score, 5 % of Work experience, 10% for GD as well as Interview and 10 % for academics, Essay and GK.

Let’s go through finally expected Cut off Marks of XAT-2016 for individual subject;

If we talk about as compared to total questions attempted. An aspirant who attempts 50-60 questions with less wrong answers could expect call from one of the Prestigious Management College.
